ATC RAU – IATA

ATC RAU is the IATA Authorized Training Center of the Romanian-American University, which offers programs covering the fields of Travel, Tourism and Aviation.

The Romanian-American University was the first university in Romania to be certified by IATA as Authorized Training Center, in 2011. This accreditation ensures the university the right to organize and conduct the courses Foundation in Travel & Tourism and Travel & Tourism Consultant.

Authorization was granted based on demonstrated instructional expertise as well as the institution’s overall ability to provide quality training.

Since 2011, Romanian-American University hosted all the examination sessions organized by IATA in Romania (taking place on a global scale, 4 times every year), and in 2013, RAU dedicated one of its classrooms to ATC RAU, the “IATA Montreal Room”, allowing students to better focus on their training and benefit of the best facilities. The center is equipped with computers, video-projector, whiteboard, interactive board, negotiation table, small library.

ATC RAU has successfully trained generations of students (many of them passing the exam with distinction and in some cases, obtaining the best performer recognition – for having the best results in Romania).

ATC RAU constantly involves the business environment in its activities, organizing round tables, conferences, seminars and international events in order to better combine the theory with the practical aspect.

Students involved in the projects and activities of the center have had over the years the opportunity to complete internships at partner companies and participate as volunteers in different events.

Moreover, the center is currently focusing on developing an even closer partnership with the business environment, involving both students and companies in academic projects.
